Localities :
An exceptional site :Limited to the south by the town of Ribeauvillé, the Geisberg faces due south. Its steep slope necessitates cultivation on terraces, between 250 and 350 metres of altitude, which take advantage of excellent sunshine. Favoured varietals :All 8,53 ha of this site are ideally suited to Riesling. Within living memory...Geisberg wines have been commercialised since ancient times, but the first written reference to this site dates from 1308, according to the historian Barth, Typical characteristics :An excellent wine to keep, Riesling Alsace Grand Cru Geisberg in time attains a powerful body, an elegant bouquet, and the celebrated "taste of old Riesling" which is greatly sought-after by connoisseurs.
