The Historian
This part of the village together with Bergholtz made a single parish until the Revolution as well as a single municipality until 1824.
Saint Pirmin founded Bergholtz-Zell in 8th century.
The second part of the name comes from " Zell " or " cella " or monastic oratory.
The same Saint Pirmin founded Murbach's abbey, to which Bergholtz-Zell belonged until the French Revolution.

The Stroller
On church's square is a well kept sarcophagus dated from high Middle Age.
The village shelters houses of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as fountain of 1800.
The church, built in 1874 has allowed the re-use of bearing registrations pillars of the disappeared Roman church.
It shelters the picture " Tobias and the 3 Archangels " dating from the 18th century.
In the surrounding areas, 2 road crosses of 1856 and 1864.
Pilgrimage of the "Olive Mountain" said " Oelberg " with an area fitted out in 1872, and 4 chapels with the stations of the Cross dedicated to " Our Lady of the Seven Pains ".
