Favoured varietals :The Wineck-Schlossberg is above all a site for the king of Alsace varietals, Riesling, which develops its qualities to the full here. Gewurztraminer is also remarkably suited. Within living memory...Although the Schlossberg was first mentioned by name in only 1706, the earliest documentary reference to the wines of Katzenthal was 700 years ago, in 1264.
