An exceptional site :This vineyard extends between the villages of Hattstatt and Voegtlinshoffen, along a uniform south and southeast exposed slope, at an altitude ranging from 220 to 330 metres. Favoured varietals :The total vineyard area is 47,36 ha, perfectly suitable for Gewurztraminer, Tokay Pinot Gris and Riesling. Muscats grown here are particularly subtle. Within living memory...Of very ancient reputation, the Hatschbourg is mentioned in various documents of the Middle Ages. Deeds dating from 16th and 17th centuries indicate that vines were planted here, and show that very high prices were paid for the wines. Typical characteristics :Wines of Grand Cru Hatschbourg display excellent varietal character, beautifully developed aromas, and are more than suitable for bottle ageing.
