Avolsheim

The Historian

Avolsheim belonged to the bishopric of Strasbourg.
The Carthusian monks of Molsheim owned there in particular the slope of vineyards called the " Finkenberg ".

An axe dating from the Neolithic era was discovered there.

The church built 1911 has a processional cross dating from the 15th century.

A baptistry (private property) Saint Ulrich of the 10th to the 12th centuries, of trefoil plan with a cylindrical drum topped by an octagonal spire, murals of the 12th , 14th and 15th centuries.
Roman church of  Dompeter, dating from the 10th century.
