Dieffenthal

The Historian

Former village of the seigniory of the Valley of Villé, entirely destroyed in 1525, during the Peasants' War.
In the 19th century, the opening of the " Proclamation of the grape harvest in Alsace " contributed to its reputation.

The Stroller

An old military milestone is still standing at the entry of the village.
This village, built on the hillside, has numerous old houses.
The monument of the Mayor Biss.
The church going back to 1762 was restored in 1886.
4 vaults of Roman style are situated in the vineyard around.
The more recent chapel known as of the " Tannenkreuz " or " Cross of the fir trees ".
